Guest Incident Procedure
In the event of a traffic stop or accident, guests should follow these steps to ensure safety, compliance, and a smooth claims process:

Ensure Safety First:
- Pull over to a safe location (shoulder or parking lot), turn on hazard lights.
- Check for injuries—call 911 if anyone is hurt.

If Pulled Over by Police:
- Keep hands visible on the steering wheel; remain calm and polite.
- Present these documents when requested:
- Your driver’s license.
- Vehicle registration (in glove compartment).
- Proof of insurance card (in glove compartment).
- Printed or digital copy of the rental agreement.
- Note the officer’s name, badge number, and citation/report number for your records.

If Involved in an Accident:
- Call 911 if injuries are suspected or laws require a police report.
- Exchange information with all parties: names, phone numbers, insurance carrier & policy numbers.
- Document the scene:
- Take timestamped photos of all vehicles, VIN plates, odometer readings, and any road conditions or signage.
- Capture a screenshot or photo of your booking confirmation and Canopy Connect verification page.
- Obtain a copy of the police/incident report—or at least the report number—to include in your claim.

- Provide your reservation number, a brief description of the incident, and attach your photos & report number.

File Insurance Claim:
- We will assist you in submitting the claim to your insurer using the policy info imported via Canopy Connect.

Follow Up:
- Keep all repair invoices, loss-of-use documentation, and correspondence with your insurer.
- We’ll coordinate any deductible collection or deposit captures as outlined in Section 7 of your agreement.
Remember: Staying calm, gathering thorough documentation, and notifying us promptly ensures that everyone stays safe and that claims are resolved quickly and fairly.
